Who We Are

We are a youth organization serving high achieving underprivileged youth

Our motto is Building Character In The Next Generation

“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.”
 – Martin Luther King, Jr.

Our Mission

We enrich youth ages thirteen to nineteen in the community by establishing faith-based programs that build character while raising their academic aspirations.

Our Impact

    • Way Truth & Life Youth Outreach. (WTL) is a 501c3 non-profit youth organization founded by Stephna Lassegue in January 2010. Since our inception, we have been a pinnacle in the local community, offering philanthropic services and resources to the less fortunate.
    • During the 2010 through 2013 calendar years, WTL collaborated with The Divine Learning Pre-College Academy, which is a summer intensive program that operates in Miami Gardens, Florida. The program impacted the lives of over 44 high school students through academic support, college/university tours, college survival information sessions and leadership development programs.
    • In 2011 and 2012 WTL joined forces with the Superintendent of the Broward County Juvenile Detention Center, where we volunteered over 52 hours every Saturday to mentor young female detainees. WTL provided educational activities to ensure that those within the facility were less likely to become repeat offenders and would have the tools to change their lives for the better.
    • WTL was afforded the opportunity to launch its services in New York City, in early 2014. Volunteering our time within local schools and churches to provide mentoring services. To date, WTL has served over 100 middle and high school students in South Florida and New York City.
    • In the Fall of 2016, The organization instituted its Way Truth & Life Dove Scholarship Fund, which made it possible for six high achieving recipients to receive a scholarship award in 2017. In 2017, we partnered with Junior Achievement of New York to offer financial literacy courses to our students.
    • Our efforts go beyond the educational spectrum as we began feeding the homeless in downtown South Florida in January 2011. Hot full course meals, prepared by one of our outreach volunteers have fed over 18,000 individuals. In 2016 a local Chick-fil-A Operator, graciously partnered with our organization.
